Jack Harper focuses his practice on wills, trusts, and estate planning; probate, trust, and estate administration; business law; real estate transactions; contracts; and zoning, planning and land use. Jack also practices in the areas of criminal defense and guardianship.
Jack graduated from Drake University Law School in 2025, receiving both a Juris Doctorate and a Masters of Business Administration. During law school, Jack focused on transactional law. While a law student, he worked at Conterra Ag Capital in West Des Moines and Iowa Legal Aid in Des Moines as a Legal Assistant. Jack also received invaluable experience as a student attorney working at the Drake Entrepreneurial and Transactional Legal Clinic.
Jack is a native of Ames and the first member of his family to be born in Iowa. He is a graduate of Gilbert High School. Jack then attended Iowa State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, realizing his passion for history and policy-making.
Jack lives in North Ames, where he enjoys spending time with his family, and is a proud uncle to his baby nephew. You may find him walking around Ada Hayden Park or playing at one of Ames’ Disc Golf courses.
Jack is a member of the Ames Jaycees and has been involved in Ames on the Half Shell.
